The Mission Creek Music & Arts Festival is an annual collaborative effort presented by local independent concert promoters, musicians, artists, filmmakers, and multi-media performance artists. Mission Creek strives to:
MCMAF is a not-for-profit festival, and relies solely on the help of the community. We need your help to keep it running for years to come. We are a fiscally sponsored project of Intersection for the Arts, and your contributions are tax deductible.
OMFG OAKLAND!
This year, the Oakland part of the festival is expanding to include the Oakland Art Murmur, many more venues, as well as a visual art show of Graphic Notation from local and international composers and artists.
FREE CONCERTS IN MCLAREN PARK, THE PHOENIX HOTEL and THE HAYES VALLEY PARK
On Saturday, September 10th, we will present a free full-day outdoor music show at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater, in the second largest park in San Francisco, McLaren Park. Craft and food vendors, performance art, visual art and a raffle round out this day that promises to be a highlight of the summer!
Similar events will be held on Sunday, September 11th at the Phoenix Hotel, and Sunday, September 18th at the Capsule Design Festival in Hayes Valley.
PETER DALTREY FLOWN IN FROM THE UK
Peter was the lead singer in the UK Psych band KALEIDOSCOPE and later Fairfield Parlour – arguably among the greatest bands of their era. If you're not familiar with their music, please check the links below. If you're already a Kaleidoscope fan, then you know how exciting this is!
The date is set for Thursday, September 8 at the Cafe Du Nord.We've arranged a pick-up band for him, which includes some of the most able musicians in the US: Christof Certik (Winter Flowers), Nick Castro (Young Elders), Aaron Sperske (Beechwood Sparks, Ariel Pink), and Rob Campanella (BJM, Quarter After). Also on the bill are Damien Youth (from New Orleans) and Asteroid 4 (Philadelphia).
